Basic structure:
Main body shape: Generally a fork-shaped structure, this shape is similar to a goat's horn, so the steering knuckle is often called a "ram's horn". The upper and lower fork parts of the fork-shaped structure are usually equipped with two coaxial mounting holes, which are the main manifestation of its "double holes" and are used to install key components such as the kingpin.
Connection parts: In addition to the double holes used to connect the kingpin, the steering knuckle also has other connection parts. For example, in automotive applications, the upper part of the steering knuckle is usually connected to the steering knuckle arm and is connected to the steering tie rod to transmit steering force; the lower part is connected to the trapezoidal arm and is connected to the steering tie rod to achieve the steering function of the vehicle. In addition, there are structures such as flanges for mounting wheel hubs and brake base plates to closely integrate wheel rotation, braking and other functions with the steering system.

How it works:
Steering function realization: When the driver turns the steering wheel, the steering force is transmitted to the steering knuckle through the transmission mechanism of the steering system. The steering knuckle rotates around the kingpin, and because it is connected to the wheel hub, it drives the wheel to deflect at a certain angle to achieve steering of the vehicle. In this process, the double-hole structure ensures the accurate installation and stable operation of the kingpin, so that the steering action can be accurately transmitted to the wheels.
Carrying and transmitting loads: During vehicle driving, the steering knuckle not only has to bear loads such as vertical force, lateral force and braking force from the wheels, but also transmits these loads to the vehicle's suspension system and frame.
