Shape and size
The central shaft of stainless steel diaphragm pumps is usually slender and cylindrical. Its length depends on the specific model and specifications of the diaphragm pump, generally ranging from tens of centimeters to several meters. The diameter depends on the power of the pump and the load it bears, and usually ranges from a few millimeters to tens of millimeters.
The two ends of the shaft may have different shape designs. One end may have a keyway or spline to connect to a motor or other power source to transmit torque; the other end may be connected to the diaphragm assembly of the diaphragm pump, and the shape of the connection part needs to match the installation structure of the diaphragm to ensure that the diaphragm able to work normally.
Material properties
Made of stainless steel, the common ones are 304 stainless steel and 316 stainless steel. 304 stainless steel has good corrosion resistance and is suitable for general working environments; 316 stainless steel contains molybdenum and shows better corrosion resistance in highly corrosive media environments such as chloride ions.
The high strength and hardness of stainless steel enable the central shaft to withstand various stresses generated during operation of the diaphragm pump, including torsional stress, bending stress and axial stress.
2. Working principle

The central shaft is the key power transmission component in the stainless steel diaphragm pump. It receives rotational power from a motor or other power device and transmits torque to the diaphragm assembly through the rotation of the shaft itself. For example, in an electric diaphragm pump, the motor drives the central shaft to rotate, which in turn causes the diaphragm connected to the central shaft to reciprocate.

The rotational motion of the central axis is converted into the reciprocating motion of the diaphragm. When the central axis rotates, the diaphragm performs periodic stretching and compression actions in the pump chamber through specific mechanical connection structures (such as connecting rods, eccentrics, etc.). This reciprocating motion causes the volume of the pump chamber to change periodically, thereby realizing the suction and discharge process of fluid.
Chemical industry
In chemical production, the central shaft of stainless steel diaphragm pump plays a vital role. Since chemical media are often corrosive, the stainless steel central shaft can effectively resist corrosion and ensure long-term stable operation of the pump.
