Generally speaking, hem machine spindles have a specific length and diameter. Material composition
The small shaft of the hemming machine is usually made of high-strength metal material. Commonly used are high-quality carbon structural steels, such as 45 steel. This kind of steel has good comprehensive mechanical properties, high strength, moderate toughness and plasticity, and can withstand certain working loads and impacts.
For some working environments that require higher wear resistance and corrosion resistance, alloy steel, such as 40Cr, may also be used. Alloy steel adds a certain amount of alloy elements, such as chromium, nickel, etc., to carbon structural steel, which can significantly improve the hardness, wear resistance and fatigue resistance of the small shaft and extend its service life.
2. Working principle

The small shaft of the hemming machine mainly performs rotational motion when working. It is usually matched with other mechanical components, such as being installed on the bracket of the machine through bearings. When the power source (such as a motor) drives the relevant transmission mechanism, the small shaft will rotate at high speed around its axis. This rotational motion is the key for the hem machine to achieve its specific functions. For example, in some textile hem machines, the rotation of the small shaft drives the fabric transportation and hem processing operations.
Force analysis
The small shaft will be affected by various forces during the working process. The first is torque, which is generated due to power transmission, and the amount of torque depends on the load being driven and the gear ratio. The second is the radial force, which mainly comes from the gravity of the components installed on the small shaft (such as gears, pulleys, etc.) and the radial pressure generated during work. In addition, axial forces may also be encountered in some cases, such as when helical gear transmission or axial positioning devices are used. Reasonable design and material selection can ensure that the small shaft works normally under the action of these forces and avoid failures such as deformation and fracture.
Textile industry
In textile machinery, hem machine small shafts are widely used. For example, in hem sewing equipment for garment production, the small axis participates in the transmission of fabric and the control of sewing movements. It can accurately control the moving speed and position of the fabric, ensure the accuracy and quality of hem sewing, and improve production efficiency.
Packaging industry
For some packaging machinery, especially hemming machines that need to fold and curl packaging materials, the small shaft plays an important role in support and transmission.
