Why Choose Precision Lock Nuts

Precision locknuts are made with precision-finished threads and faces to secure power transmission products. Their precision allows them to achieve a strong metal-to-metal locking without distortion. They are also sometimes referred to as bearing locknuts since their threads correspond to standard bearing sizes. They are typically tightened with a spanner wrench. Tightening them properly requires clockwise or counterclockwise turns for right-handed threads. In some cases, a setscrew is used to secure the female threads of the locknut to the male threads of the shaft.
